One Person Killed in Hesperia Traffic Collision: Investigation Ongoing

LOCATION: Main Street / Balsam Avenue, Hesperia
VICTIM (1): Martin Ramirez, 60-year-old, Resident of Hesperia, driver of a blue 2015 Toyota Camry
INVOLVED PARTY (1): Male 23-years-old, Driver of a Gray 2025 Toyota Camry
SUMMARY: On April 8, 2026, at about 6:25 a.m., deputies from the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department Hesperia Station and personnel from the San Bernardino County Fire Department responded to the intersection of Main Street and Balsam Avenue regarding a two-vehicle traffic collision.
Upon arrival, emergency personnel located a gray Toyota Camry, and a blue Toyota Camry involved in the collision. The driver of the gray Toyota Camry was found standing outside of his vehicle. He sustained minor injuries and was transported by San Bernardino County Fire Department personnel to a local hospital for treatment.
The driver of the blue Toyota Camry, identified as Martin Ramirez, was located unresponsive in the driver’s seat of his vehicle. Ramirez was pronounced deceased at the scene by emergency personnel.
Drugs and/or alcohol do not appear to be factors in this collision at this time. The cause of the collision remains under investigation.
