When We Remember

When we remember
we may think about the day they shipped off to service
When we remember
we may think about the first time we saw them in uniform
When we remember
we may think about them brave coming of age
When we remember
we may think about their journey their story their page
Hold on to their memory
we will see endlessly the light in their eyes
Hold on to their memory
we will always hear the life in their voice
Hold on to their memory
we will forever feel the beat of their heart
Hold on to their memory
we will eternally keep them close …
memorialized … a part
