Suffolk County Crime Stoppers and Suffolk County Third Squad detectives are seeking the public’s help in locating the individual or individuals responsible for stealing a motorized scooter.

Sometime between 1 p.m. and 7 p.m. on Sunday, October 7, 2012, a Blue Champion 3 Scooter belonging to a disabled Vietnam Veteran was stolen from his front lawn, located at 68 Bushwick Ave., Central Islip. The 59-year-old victim uses his scooter, valued at $1800, to travel to a bus stop to take a bus to volunteer at the Northport Veterans Affairs Medical Center. Suffolk County Crime Stoppers offers a cash reward of up to $5,000 for information that leads to an arrest. Anyone with information about this crime is asked to call Crime Stoppers anonymously at 1-800-220-TIPS. All calls will be kept confidential.
