On August 7, 2015 Giles County Sheriff’s Department deputies and investigators responded to a residence on Jenny Lane in reference to unresponsive female. Giles County 911 had been notified that a male subject had arrived home and found his wife (Anneil Woodard age 76) had been shot. Investigators obtained a search warrant for the residence. Victim was sent for autopsy. Further investigation lead to charges against Donald Woodard. Donald Woodard was arrested for Aggravated Domestic Assault, unlawful possession of weapon and various drug charges. Woodard was booked in the Giles County Jail and later posted a $23,500 bond and was released. Circumstances of her death remain under investigation.
