Women in Law Enforcement Workshop This Saturday at OPD - Opportunities for Women at the Oakland Police Department
As the Oakland Police Department strives to increase its diversity, it is reaching out to encourage women to consider a career as a police officer. The OPD Recruiting & Backgrounds Unit has created the Women in Law Enforcement Workshop to provide honest insights into what it is like to be a female police officer.
The first workshop will be held Saturday, April 9, from 10:00 to 12:00 noon at the Police Administration Building Auditorium, 455 7th Street, Oakland. Come learn more! Women officers will share their experiences and answer your questions. Topics will include the Department and its policies, shift work, and the dangers and rewards of police work.
If what you learn interests you, applications are being accepted for the Police Officer Trainee position until May 20. For more information, please visit www.opdjobs.com or contact the OPD Background and Recruiting Unit at (510) 238-3339.
Other workshops are planned for June 11, September 10, and December 10.
