Protest- Final Update

On the evening of Friday, July 15, 2016 at about 4:00 PM, a group of demonstrators gathered at Frank Ogawa Plaza. The group began with approximately 10 and throughout the evening grew to approximately 100.

Oakland Police Officers facilitated a march from Frank Ogawa Plaza towards the Oakland Police Administration Building (455 7th Street). Approximately 100 protesters attempted to enter the freeway on 880 North, but they were unable to gain access. The march continued back to Frank Ogawa Plaza before detouring to 17th and Castro. Protesters attempted to enter the freeway at the 980 onramp on Brush Street, but were blocked by Oakland officers and the California Highway Patrol. Throughout the evening, protesters marched between the PAB, and 14th and Broadway.

The crowd is about 30 at this time.

At this time there are no arrests, no citations, or reported injuries.
