Today, at 3:15 AM, the Oakland Police Department was notified of shots fired in a building in the 1500 block of East 12th Street. Oakland officers responded and made contact with a victim outside of the building who had suffered a gunshot wound. He has since been medically treated and released.
OPD's Tactical Operations and Hostage Negotiation Team used communication which resulted in over a half dozen individuals exit the building. At this time we have safely taken two suspects in custody in connection with this shooting.
During the search of the building, one firearm and a replica handgun were recovered.
Currently, this is an active scene and investigation.
