The Oakland Police Department requests community assistance with information regarding a newborn baby abandoned this morning in the 2600 block of 19th Avenue. This morning, two citizens heard the cries of a baby in the 2600 block of 19th Avenue. They searched the area and found what appeared to be a newborn. They immediately rushed the baby to a local hospital to be medically evaluated and contacted the Oakland Police Department.
Currently, the Oakland Police Department is investigating an abandoned newborn in the 2600 block of 19th Avenue and are asking anyone who lives or works in the area and may have information on this incident to contact our Special Victims Section at (510) 238-3641.
