While air quality is improving in Oakland today, many residents may still wish to use public facilities where filtered air and/or air conditioning are available. These facilities are open:

* Oakland Public Library Asian Branch, 388 9th Street, open Saturday 10am-5:30pm, closed Sunday
* Oakland Public Library César E. Chávez Branch, 3301 East 12th Street, Suite 271, open Saturday 10am-5:30pm, closed Sunday
* Oakland Public Library Dimond Branch, 3565 Fruitvale Avenue, open Saturday 10am-5:30pm, closed Sunday
* Oakland Public Library Piedmont Avenue Branch, 80 Echo Ave, open Saturday 10am-5:30pm, closed Sunday
* East Oakland Sports Center, 9161 Edes Ave, open Saturday 8am-8pm, Sunday 8am-6:30pm
* Golden Gate Recreation Center, open Saturday 10am-6pm

As mentioned above, air quality in Oakland is improving today, and City service crews regularly scheduled to work weekends are outside and working today. However, many City employees are being directly affected by the North Bay fires, and we ask for the community's continued patience as we might experience a short-term impact to some services as a result.

Oakland firefighters and other staff are also continuing to contribute to the efforts to contain the flames, and we are continuing to send out gratitude, support, and hopes for a safe resolution as the Bay Area rallies together to tackle this enormous challenge.
