As of 9:30 p.m. tonight, roadway repair is complete. City crews are picking up equipment and traffic control devices, with CalTrans scheduled to reopen the tube at midnight. To confirm, the roadway will be fully open and no further repairs are needed at this time.

Initial estimates were that repairs would take a full week or more. The accelerated repair and shortened road closure time are the results of the dedication of City of Oakland repair crews who worked tirelessly through the weekend, as well as the close coordination of CalTrans and the City of Alameda. The City of Oakand thanks its hardworking staff and collaborative partners for a successful team effort to respond swiftly and effectively in service of our residents.
