 The suspect who was detained at the location of a stabbing death investigation that occurred on Thursday, June 14, 2018 near the 43700 block of Ponderosa Street in Lancaster has been arrested and charged with murder.
 
Fifty-seven year old Frank Depetro, who is the brother of the victim, is being held on two million dollars bail.
 
The motive appears to be a personal dispute between the victim and the suspect.
 
The weapon, a folding knife, was recovered at the scene.
 
The investigation is ongoing and there is no additional information available at this time.

UPDATED PRESS RELEASE IS AS FOLLOWS

Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Homicide detectives are investigating the stabbing death of a male adult that occurred on the 43700 block of Ponderosa Street in Lancaster on June 14^th, 2018 at approximately 11:50 pm.

Deputies responded to the location regarding an assault call.  Upon their arrival they located a male White adult who had sustained at least one stab wound to his upper torso.
 
He was transported to a local hospital where he was pronounced dead.
 
The suspect, who is the victim’s brother, was detained at the location. The suspect was later transported to Lancaster station pending interviews with detectives.
 
A knife was recovered at the scene and the motive for the assault is unknown.
 
There are no outstanding suspects.
 
The investigation is ongoing.

NARRATIVE:
Los Angeles County Sheriff's Homicide Bureau detectives are responding to investigate the stabbing death of a man. The incident occurred on Thursday, June 14, 2018, at approximately 11:52 p.m., on the 43700 block of Ponderosa Street, Lancaster.

The male adult victim was transported to a local hospital where he was pronounce dead.
