Stabbing Suspect Located and Arrested

The suspect wanted for a stabbing Friday night, June 29, 2018 at a transient encampment near Patterson Avenue and Highway 101 is in custody. On July 3, 2018, Sheriff’s detectives from the Criminal Investigations Bureau and the Special Investigations Bureau located 57-year-old Donald Lowe of Lompoc in the area of Cabrillo Blvd. and Ninos Dr. in Santa Barbara. Through the course of their investigation, detectives identified Lowe as the suspect responsible for stabbing a 29-year-old male in the stomach. The suspect and the victim were acquaintances living at the homeless encampment and the incident occurred following a dispute over property. The victim is still recovering at a local hospital.

When Lowe was located in Santa Barbara, he was found to be in possession of about 23 grams of methamphetamine, about one gram of black tar heroin and under one gram of brown heroin. Three individuals who were with Lowe were arrested as well.

Lowe was booked at the Santa Barbara County Jail on charges of assault with a deadly weapon causing great bodily injury. He is being held on $350,000 bail.

30-year-old Andrea Mertynuik of Ventura was booked for violation of her probation and for outstanding warrants. She is being held on $5,000 bail. 35-year-old Lindsay Lilburn of Carpinteria was arrested for violation of her probation and is being held without bail. 41-year-old Sean Lynn of Santa Barbara was arrested for violation of the terms of his AB109 post community supervision and is being held without bail.
