Traffic Advisory due to Community Events Wednesday, August 17th through Sunday, August 26th

Please be advised of the following multiple community events taking place between August 17th and August 26th 
These events may cause traffic congestion and/or temporary road closures in the area.

Wednesday,  August 15th  – Sunday August 19th
Ss. Cyril & Methodius R.C. Church – Deer Park
Annual Family Festival at 125 Half Hollow Road. (Deer Park Avenue)
Wed. 8/15 – 6:00 pm to 10:00 pm
Thurs. 8/16 – 6:00 pm to 10:00 pm
Fri. 8/17 – 6:00 pm to 10:00 pm
Sat. 8/18 – 3:00 pm to 10:00 pm
Sun. 8/19 – 2:00 pm to 8:00 pm
 
Saturday, August 18th
Lindenhurst Village Gazebo - Noon to 10:00pm
Annual Steakfry will be held at Lindenhurst Village Gazebo Park, located at the intersection ofWellwood Ave. and Hoffman Ave.
Hoffman Ave. on the north side of the LIRR, from Wellwood Ave., east to the eastern end of the District court Building will be closed for this event.

Saturday, August 19th
Tanner Park – Copiague – Noon to 7:00 pm
Annual Long Island Blue Grass and Roots Music Festival
Food and Crafts, Rain or Shine
 
Saturday, August 25th
 Lindenhurst Marina – 7:00 am – 2:00 pm
Lindenhurst Rotary Club will be holding their Annual Snapper Derby at Wellwood Avenue Docks.

Saturday, August 25th
Hermann Griem Park – Brown Blvd, Wheatley Heights 10:00 am – 12 noon
Sweaty Summer Saturday is a day of workouts that will feature bootcamp, boxing and yoga classes led by certified instructors.
This event is free and open to the public.
Additionally, Assemblywoman Kimberly Jean-Pierre will be collecting school supplies at this event. She will be collecting until August 31st. Items can be dropped of at 640 West Montauk Highway, Lindenhurst Monday – Friday 9am-5pm
 
 
Sunday, August 26th
Bread of Life World Outreach Center – Noon – 6:00 pm
The Bread of Life Fellowship Church will be holding #ThinkBIG, event at 1345 Straight Path, Wyandanch.
Wyandanch Ave. will be closed from Straight Path to Mount Ave. for this event. They will be giving away free backpacks, haircuts, bounce houses, etc.
