Weapon charges were filed by the LA County District Attorney's Office against three gang members arrested after a shooting in Pomona

SUSPECTS: Samuel Williams, 42 Years Old, Victorville Resident
                      Deante Williams, 25 Years Old, Los Angeles Resident
                      Malik  Slayton, 19 Years Old, Victorville Resident
 
CHARGES:  29800 (a) (1) PC- Felon in possession of a firearm
INCIDENT NUMBER: 18-99106
 
Narrative:                   
On August 31, 2018, the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office filed charges against all three suspects. They were charged with 29800(a)(1) - Felon in possession of a firearm and gang enhancements. They were arraigned on the listed charges, today in Superior Court.

On August 29, 2018, members of the Pomona Police Department responded to the area of Towne and Harrison reference several shots fired and a traffic collision.  Multiple individuals were seen running from one of the involved vehicles carrying firearms. Pomona Police Officers began area checking as well as Claremont Police Officers, who had also received a call.  Officers located three males matching the description in a nearby residential area and attempted to detain them.  One of the three ran away and a foot pursuit ensued.  The subject jumped several fences and the officer lost sight of him but a containment was quickly set up.  An extensive yard to yard search was conducted by several units within the Pomona Police Department as well as Claremont Police. The subject who ran was found hiding in the backyard to a citizen’s residence by the search teams. Three firearms related to this incident were recovered both at the scene and in the area of the foot pursuit by investigators. All three subjects were positively identified as being involved and booked at the Pomona city jail for the above listed charges. It is believed this incident was gang related and the investigation is on-going.  One adult male was in stable condition being treated for gunshot wounds.
