Full Notification

On Friday, September 14, 2018, at around 3:00 P.M. Deputies from the Sonoma Valley Substation were dispatched to single report of a male walking in the area of Highway 12 and Verano Avenue with a gun.   Deputies responded to the area and located a subject matching the description provided by the reporting party in the Vineyard Shopping Center at the same location.  Deputies detained the subject without incident and conducted a search of the area.  Located in a garbage can near where the subject was standing was a BB gun, a red demon type mask, a small baggie of methamphetamine, and foil with burn marks (used to smoke controlled substances).
 
The subject admitted to possessing the BB gun and stated that he intended to use it for target practice, but denied ownership of the other objects.  He was later examined and found to be under the influence of a controlled substance.  The suspect was arrested and booked into the Sonoma County Jail for the following offenses:
 
20170(a) PC Unlawful display of imitation firearm in public
11550(a) H&S Under the influence of a controlled substance
11377(a) H&S Possession of controlled substance (methamphetamine)
11364(a) H&S Possession of drug paraphernalia
1203.2 PC Violation of probation
