Late last night Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department Compton Station Deputies, were involved in a vehicle pursuit that resulted in two arrests and three loaded guns were recovered.
On Wednesday October 3rd, 2018 At approximately 10:50PM Deputies saw a suspected DUI vehicle driving against traffic on Harris Avenue, in the City of Compton. Deputies attempted to conduct a traffic stop and the suspect vehicle failed to yield. The pursuit began in Compton and came to a stop near Olive Avenue and 61st Street in the City of Long Beach. The vehicle stopped when it collided into an unoccupied parked vehicle. Thereafter up to four suspects jumped out of the car and ran. A containment was immediately set up and two male Black adults ages 18 and 19, were quickly arrested. Additionally three loaded handguns were recovered.
No deputies or other persons were injured during the pursuit.
We’d like to thank the community for their patience and remind everyone to avoid the area when there is police activity because suspects may be armed with firearms or other weapons. We’d also like to thank our Special Enforcement Bureau along with K9 “Nero” for their back up.
