REPOPULATION OF AREAS IMPACTED BY WOOLSEY FIRE CONTINUES IN MALIBU

LOS ANGELES (Nov. 15, 2018) – The Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department announces the repopulation of the following areas impacted by the #WoolseyFire, effective at 2:00 P.M. on Thursday, November 15, 2018.

The following areas inside the city of Malibu will be opened to residents only, beginning at 2:00 P.M. on Thursday afternoon:

This includes the following areas:

  • Pacific Coast Highway from Webb Way (east) to the
           25700 block of Pacific Coast Highway (east of Corral Canyon)
  • From the ocean (south) to the Malibu city limit (north)
WITH THE FOLLOWING EXCEPTIONS:
o Pepperdine University will remain CLOSED
o Puerco Canyon Road will remain CLOSED, north of the hard gate
o The Corral Canyon Park and the Malibu Beach RV park will also remain CLOSED
o Malibu Canyon Road will be CLOSED north of Civic Center Way
  • This will include the Malibu Road and Malibu Colony neighborhoods
NOTICE: LASD personnel will be moving the checkpoint from Pacific Coast Highway and Carbon Canyon Road to Pacific Coast Highway and Webb Way in the city of Malibu. Only RESIDENTS of the repopulated areas west of Webb Way in the city of Malibu will be permitted to enter this area. The area west of Corral Canyon will remain closed.

Simply click the link, enter an address for the #WoolseyFire area in the search field and press enter. Scroll out on the map to determine if the indicated area has a red or green background. Red indicates the area is still closed and unsafe to return. Green indicates the area is open for repopulation. In addition to the map, a written description of the areas to be opened is listed above.

The Fire Incident Command continues to monitor the active fire areas, as well as those areas remaining closed due to critical infrastructure concerns or safety hazards. Any future information pertaining to safety conditions and repopulation will be updated at the following link: www.LACounty.gov/WoolseyFire/  

The Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department will have a strong presence in the repopulated and evacuated areas for the next several days to ensure the protection of our residents and their property. All other road closures and evacuated areas for the #WoolseyFire remain in effect.
