Six People Arrested in SLA Inspection

Suffolk County Police First Precinct Crime Section along with the First Precinct Gang Team, First Precinct Community Support Unit, Town of Babylon Deputy Commissioner of Public Safety, Town of Babylon Fire Marshall, Town of Babylon Building Inspector and the Town of Babylon Code Enforcement conducted a SLA Inspection at Signal 8 Saloon, located at 80 F Montauk Highway, Copiague last night at 11:35 p.m.   
 
First Precinct Crime Section officers arrested four males and two females during the SLA Inspection:
 

  • Lisa Palmgren, 48, of West Islip, (Bartender at Bar) was charged with ABC Law (Disorderly Premise), a misdemeanor; and with ABC Law (Selling to a Visibly Intoxicated Person), a misdemeanor.
  • Rolando Guzman II,  38, of Copiague, (Patron at Bar) was charged with Criminal Possession of a Weapon 2nd Degree (Loaded Firearm), a Class C Felony; Criminal Possession of a Weapon 4th Degree (Metal Knuckles), a misdemeanor; and Criminal Possession of an Controlled Substance 3rd (Intent to sell Cocaine), a Class B Felony.
  • Ginna Amendola, 31, of Bethpage, (Patron at Bar) was charged with Criminal Possession of a Weapon 4th (Gravity Knife), a misdemeanor.
  • Martin Bassett 48, of Copiague, (Patron at Bar) was charged with Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance 7th Degree, a misdemeanor.
  • Rodger McGrady, 54, of Copiague, (Patron at Bar) was charged with Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance 7th Degree, a misdemeanor.
  • Jeff Gottlieb, 29, of Massapequa, (Patron at Bar) was charged with Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance 7th degree, a misdemeanor. 
    The Town of Babylon Quality of Life Task Force issued 15 combined Building, Fire and Code Violations to the owner.  As a result of the violations, the establishment was condemned and closed.
     
    The six people arrested will be arraigned at a later date.


    A criminal charge is an accusation. A defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
