Effective at 6PM today (Tuesday, January 15, 2019), the Evacuation Order issued for the Sherpa, Whittier, and Thomas Fire burn areas in Santa Barbara County will be lifted. Periods of moderate to heavy rain are still possible tonight and into the morning on Wednesday. If evacuated residents who are returning home have a need for wheelchair or other specialized transport, call the call center at (833) 688-5551 or Easy Lift Transportation at (805) 896-3998. Residents are encouraged to stay alert to changing conditions and should take action to stay safe if they feel threatened. Another storm is forecast to arrive Wednesday night. Currently, this storm is forecast to have rainfall rates below debris flow thresholds.
