The National Weather Service in The San Francisco Bay Area has issued a
* Flood Warning for Urban Areas and Small Streams in... Sonoma County in northern California...
* Until 815 PM PST.
* At 516 PM PST, Doppler radar and automated rain gauges indicated that heavy rain is beginning to fall over Sonoma County. The heavy rain will cause flooding. Rainfall will cause County streams, creeks, and river to swell. Some may exceed their banks. Localized flooding is likely in low lying areas as well.
* AFFECTED AREAS: SONOMA, CA
Instructions:
Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the dangers of flooding. In hilly terrain there are hundreds of low water crossings which are potentially dangerous in heavy rain. Do not attempt to cross flooded roads. Find an alternate route.
