On January 26th 2019, at about 3:25 PM, Camarillo Police patrol deputies responded to a call of a possible assault and attempted robbery, which occurred in the area of Calleguas Creek Bike Path, between Adolfo Road and Mission Oaks Boulevard.  A K9 Unit and a Sheriff’s Office helicopter also responded to search for the suspect. During the initial investigation, deputies spoke with a female victim whom reported she had been battered by an unknown male subject while she was walking along the east side of the Calleguas Creek Bike Path, between Adolfo Road and Mission Oaks Boulevard. The female victim defended herself and within a few moments the unknown male suspect ran away from the scene southbound along the bike path, towards Mission Oaks Boulevard. The female victim sustained minor scrapes as a result of the battery. The victim also provided statements which indicated a possible attempted robbery may have been the motive for the battery, although additional investigation is needed to corroborate this information.  Detectives are currently investigating all available leads in order to confirm what exactly occurred during this incident.

The unknown male suspect fled the area before law enforcement arrived and has not been identified.  The suspect was described as an Asian or Hispanic male, 5’0” to 5’7” in height, 110-115 pounds, a round shaped face with medium length straight black hair and no facial hair. The suspect was wearing a brown t-shirt, blue jeans and carrying a black back-pack. It’s possible the suspect also has injuries on his face, possible scratch marks or bruises.
