We made it to Friday!

Today, we are wrapping up our online safety tips! A big thank you to Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department Fraud & Cyber Crimes Bureau for sharing so much useful information with us and our community!

Let's recap what we touched on throughout the week.

1. Never share your password with anyone.
2. Develop a strong word or better yet passphrase. Change it often, about every 6 months.
3. Be way of unfamiliar emails. Scammers are very good at re-creating official logos and backgrounds.
4. Verify financial emails with a phone call. Do not use the phone number provided in the email or text, call only the number on the back of your bank card.
5. Nothing is ever deleted from the internet.
6. Parents: be involved. Make sure you know what social media platforms your child/teen is using and check their account often.
7. Be cautious when using online dating sites. Never send money to anyone you have not met in person.
