Search warrant uncovers guns, ammo in Canyon Country home
A search warrant executed Tuesday, March 26, 2019 by Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff's COBRA detectives after receiving a tip turned up a cache of illegal weapons and narcotics in a Canyon Country home.
Due to the nature of the circumstances, Special Enforcement Bureau (SEB) deputies assisted detectives in the serving of the warrant on the 18000 block of River Circle. Seven firearms including three assault rifles, large quantities of ammunition, and methamphetamine were located and seized.
Los Angeles County Department of Children and Family Services (DCFS) inspected the premises and removed three children, between the ages of 10-14, for placement into protective custody. Los Angeles County Animal Care and Control responded and took custody of three pit bulls and one bearded dragon.
Suspect Rachel Manes-Patterson, 34, was arrested and charged with four felony counts of possession of illegal assault weapons, one felony count of convicted felon in possession of a firearm, one felony count of possession of unlawful ammunition, and three misdemeanor counts of child endangerment.
Suspect Robert Wayne Allen, 30, was arrested and charged with four felony counts of possession of illegal assault weapons, three misdemeanor counts of child endangerment, and one misdemeanor count of possession of methamphetamine.
Preliminary court dates are set for Manes-Patterson and Allen during the second week of April.
