SUMMARY:

On Tuesday night, March 26, 2019, Hughes was watching his girlfriend’s children including Willis who has Down Syndrome.  At some point during the night, Willis angered Hughes by interrupting him.  Hughes assaulted Willis and then put her to bed. Willis was flown to the Loma Linda University Medical Center for treatment for severe head trauma.  Willis was on life support for several days and on March 29, 2019, she died as a result of the injuries caused by Hughes.
