Child found wandering SR streets returned home safely.

A 4-year-old boy found wandering on Santa Rosa Avenue was safely reunited with his parents after an exhaustive search. This morning at around 3:00 AM, Sheriff’s Deputies were called to the Santa Rosa Car Wash in the 3300 block of Santa Rosa Avenue. A man reported that he found a lost 4-year-old boy wandering in the area.

Deputies contacted the boy who relayed that he fell asleep at his uncle’s home and when he woke up in the middle of the night, his family wasn’t there so he went looking for them and then got lost. Deputies searched the area and put out a Nixle advisory but weren’t able to find the uncle’s home.

The boy was transported to a local hospital where a representative from Child Protective Services was able to meet with him and provide care.

At about 5:20 AM we received a call from the boy’s mother who stated she just got a call from the uncle who told her that when he woke up, her son was not in their home. He looked around and was concerned that the child was gone. The boy was supposed to be spending the night with his uncle and cousins at their home in the Sunset Mobile Home Park in the 2900 block of Santa Rosa Ave. We were able to place her in touch with Child Protective Services to be reunited.
