Suffolk County Police have issued a Silver Alert for a missing man who suffers from dementia.
John Heeber, 66, who lives in Brookhaven, went missing yesterday morning at 9 a.m. from a facility at New Brookhaven Townhouse, located at 111 Beaver Dam Road. Heeber is white with a light complexion, blue eyes and gray hair that is balding. He is 5 feet 8 inches tall and approximately 175 pounds. He was last seen wearing dark gray sweatpants, a blue tee shirt, white sneakers, and a baseball cap, carrying an umbrella. Heeber suffers from dementia and alcohol abuse and has not taken his medication since yesterday morning. He was last seen at Family Dollar, located at 1735 Montauk Highway in Bellport at 12 p.m.
Anyone with information on Heeber’s location is asked to call 911 or the Fifth Squad at 631-854-8552.
As a reminder, Silver Alert is a program implemented in Suffolk County that allows local law enforcement to share information with media outlets about individuals with special needs who have been reported missing.
