Incidents 306 Reports 50

#018 Suspicious Circumstances
Officer Catassi investigated a suspicious circumstance case at a business in the 41000 block of Boscell Rd., where an unknown person described as a Filipino male in his 30’s threw a “M80” towards the building and fled in an older model Honda or Toyota southbound.  There were no security cameras with view of the incident and the general area was obstructed due to multiple commercial trucks parked along the roadway.

Outside Assist
ACSO requested assistance with the execution of search warrant at an address on Central Av.  Sgt. Bocage managed the incident for FPD which required multiple units.  Several suspects were taken into custody and transported by ACSO.  Outside Assist documented.

#025 Public Intoxication Arrest
Officers were dispatched to the rear of a business in the 40700 block of Fremont Blvd. in Irvington on the report of a man drinking beer refusing to leave.  Officer Hancock contacted and arrested the 27 year old man for public intoxication.

#036 Petty Theft/probation violation arrest:
Officers were dispatched to the area of Judie and Mildred on the report of a suspicious woman looking into vehicles.  Officer Burch located, detained and ultimately arrested a 44 year old woman for theft and a probation violation.

#049 Promiscuous Shooting
Officers are dispatched to the area of Fremont Blvd/Eggers Dr. at approximately 10:34 on the report of  4-5 gun shots being heard in the area.  Upon arrival, two casings were found in the street.  Area hospitals were checked and an area canvass was conducted, both met with negative results for additional information

#002 Vandalism
Officers responded to a report of glass breaking in the parking lot of the Smoking Pig restaurant on Mowry Ave.  A witness saw a male subject walking away from the area with a baseball bat.  Officers arrive on scene and are unable to locate the male with the baseball bat, but did locate a vehicle with a broken window.

#008 Evading, Conspiracy to Commit a Crime, Possession of Burglary Tools, etc.
At 11:42 a.m., officers were dispatched to the 24 HR Fitness on Automall Pkwy when a witness reported several males associated with a silver Hyundai, were looking into vehicles.  Officer Catassi arrived first and located the suspect vehicle as it fled the scene.  The vehicle took off at a high rate of speed, jumping the center divider, and got on northbound I880 from Automall.  The vehicle was damaged as a result and the driver eventually lost control on I880 near Stevenson Blvd.  The vehicle became disabled on the freeway.  One suspect was pinned in the vehicle and was taken into custody by Officer Catassi.  Officer L. Kennedy chased the other two and after a brief foot pursuit, caught the second suspect.  The third suspect attempted to hide in a drainage tunnel but was captured by Fremont PD K9 Bolt and taken into custody.  The license plates on the Hyundai were stolen out of Oakland.  The three, ages 20, 21 and 24, were arrested and booked on charges of conspiracy to commit a crime, obstruction, evading, and possession of burglary tools.

#010 Robbery Attempt
CHP was flagged down at Warren/Kato in reference to a possible robbery attempt.  Eventually we determined that two suspects with masks broke the victim’s car window while she was stopped and stole her purse.  The suspects matched the description of a robbery that had just occurred in the east bay, prior to this incident.  Detectives also recognized the suspect vehicle as matching that of a suspect wanted for burglary. Additional progress has been made on this case over the last week.

#025 Estes Robbery
At 6:07 p.m. officers responded to Safeway at the Fremont Hub regarding a robbery in progress.  The suspect had stolen items and assaulted security during his attempt to escape.  The suspect then attempted to hide in the bathroom.  When he exited, he was greeted by arriving officers.  The 40 year old Fremont transient was arrested and booked for robbery and a probation violation.  Case handled by Officer Blanchet.

#037 Stolen Vehicle (Occupied) Arrest
Officer Vucurevich located a stolen vehicle (2007 GMC Yukon) leaving Motel 6 (North) at 11:07 p.m.  He was able to follow the vehicle into the residential neighborhood on the opposite side of I880.  The vehicle stopped in front of a residence on Lake Bluestone St. after getting lost in the area.  Two suspects were held at gun point (felony traffic stop) until additional units could get to the stop.  The occupants were both taken into custody.  After completing the interviews, a 26 year old adult male, Fremont transient, was booked for the stolen vehicle and the passenger was released.

#004 DUI Collision Arrest
A collision on Valpey Parkway was reported at approximately 2:40 a.m., with no injuries.  The male driver was placed under arrest for DUI and booked at the Fremont Jail.

#008 & #011 Auto Burglaries
39500 block of Royal Palm Drive/5400 block of Mowry Ave – Unknown suspect(s) broke into two vehicles and stole various tools.

#021 Commercial Burglary
44100 block of Warm Springs Blvd – Unknown suspect(s) broke into a business through the front door.  Electronic items and office supplies were stolen.

#030 Missing Person Case
CSO Romero investigated a report of a missing adult female who was at risk due to a mental disability.  Officers DeStefano and Paiva assisted with the coordinated search for the missing adult and CSO Romero utilized social media to assist.  The missing woman was located in Newark several hours later by a relative.

#032 Hit and Run Property Damage
Officers were dispatched to a call of a single vehicle collision near the Walmart store on Osgood Rd. The vehicle became disabled after colliding with a raised center median. The driver of the vehicle fled on foot prior to officers arriving on scene and was not located. Investigated
by Officer Rodarte.

#006 Hit and Run Property Damage
A second call of a hit and run was reported shortly after the above call. A single vehicle collided with a fire hydrant near Jack James Tow on Boyce Rd. The vehicle left the scene prior to officers arriving in the area. Newark PD later reported that they located the involved vehicle and driver within their jurisdiction. Officer Gallagher responded to Newark and cited out the driver, identified as a 31 year old female, after she admitted to the collision.

#012 Assault with a Deadly Weapon
Late reported from April an assault with a deadly weapon incident was reported in the 37200 block of Fremont Blvd.   The reporting party was asleep inside a warehouse when he was confronted by an unknown suspect.  The suspect allegedly struck the victim in the head with a firearm, and then stole an unknown amount of construction tools.  Officers Pena and Ferrara are continuing the investigation.

#006 Commercial Burglary
12 Chromebooks were stolen from the Berkeley Academy on Mission Blvd the day prior.  The forced point of entry was through a glass door on the south side of the school.  Officer San Luis is investigating.

#020 Brandishing a Weapon
Officers responded to Calypso Terrace on the report of a male who was swinging a 10” knife at people.  The man was arrested for battery and brandishing a knife.  The case was investigated by Officer Lucas Tran.

#025 Trespassing, Resisting and a Probation Violation
Officers Trzewieczynski, Paiva, and Ramirez responded to the Mowry Walgreens for a report of a transient who was outside the store, scaring customers and refusing to leave.  They contacted the 29 year old man and he decided to take a fighting stance against the officers instead of complying with their commands.  A Taser was used and the man was taken into custody for resisting and a probation violation.

#026 DUI Collision/Battery on a Police Officer Arrest
At 9:18 p.m., officers were dispatched to a report of a collision in the area of Paseo Padre Parkway/ Pine Street.  Upon arrival, it was evident that the involved vehicle overturned multiple times and crushed a tree in its path. A 39 year old woman was contacted who had a heavy odor of an alcoholic beverage coming from her. The woman was uncooperative with first responders on scene and kicked a police officer. The woman was restrained and transported for medical evaluation. She was subsequently citied for operating a motor vehicle while under the influence and battery on a peace officer. Case investigated by Officer Gallagher.

#029 Major Injury Collision
Officers were dispatched to a report of a motor vehicle collision involving a pedestrian in the area of Thornton Avenue/Dondero Way. The 18 year old female pedestrian suffered major injuries requiring transport to a trauma center. The driver remained in the area and was cooperative.  A callout was initiated for Traffic Investigators to take over the scene.  Alcohol and drugs did not appear to be a factor and it does not appear the female was not in a crosswalk at the time. Case is still under investigation and the laste update was that the woman was still hospitalized.

#031 DUI and Unlicensed Driver Arrest
At 10:49 p.m., Sgt. Kwok was exiting the police department gates when he observed a vehicle driving eastbound on Stevenson Boulevard. The vehicle intended on making a left hand turn into the adjacent apartment complex. Instead, the vehicle drove over the center median, struck the north curb-line and drove up the lawn of the apartment complex. The driver, a 22 year old adult male, was contacted. He acknowledged using a variety of controlled substances prior to operating a motor vehicle. The man was arrested for driving while under the influence and being an unlicensed driver. Case investigated by Officer Ramirez.

Incidents Reports

#009 Auto Burglary
Officers investigated an auto burglary in the 41900 block of Osgood Rd.  The burglary occurred sometime over the weekend.  Sporting goods and electronic items were stolen.

#024 Outside Assist
Det. Holguin broadcasted that he on-viewed ACSO Deputies from the courthouse chasing a subject.  He believed that the suspect likely escaped from the courthouse.  Dispatch advised that they had received a call from ACSO with the limited information.  Det. Holguin attempted to follow the suspect but lost him through the Hub.  Officers set a perimeter as they obtained more information from ACSO.  Eventually, we learned that a 30 year old man had fled from a courtroom during an arraignment.  The man was in custody for an Estes robbery that had occurred in Union City.  The man was not located and ACSO is handling the investigation. 

#002 Traffic Collision / DUI Arrest
Officers were dispatched to the area of Mowry Ave.  and Blacow Rd. on the report of a traffic collision. A vehicle traveling northbound on Blacow Rd. veered over the center divider and crossed over the opposing lanes of traffic. The vehicle eventually came to a rest along a raised embankment on the west side of the roadway. The driver, identified as a 23 year old female, was arrested for DUI. A male passenger in the vehicle sustained minor injury stemming from the collision but refused medical attention.

#020 Robbery
Officers were dispatched to a report of a robbery at Fry’s Electronics.  The suspect stole a few electronic DJ items and physically pushed the Loss Prevention employees on his way out.  The suspect was described as a black male, 30s; 6’03”, skinny, bald, wearing a black sweater, white shirt and blue jeans. He fled the parking lot in an older model green Honda Civic.  Case investigated by Officer Catassi.

#037 Possession of a Controlled Substance Arrest
Officers were dispatched to the Taco truck parked on Thornton Ave on the report of people smoking methamphetamines from within a parked vehicle.  Officer Crow arrived and contacted the vehicle’s three occupants.  Ultimately, Officer Crow arrested a 23 year old adult male for several drug related offenses. 

#003 DUI Arrest
Officer Vucurevich contacted a 36 year old man following a call from a witness who reported a possible drunk driver in the area of McDonalds on Decoto Rd.  The man was arrested for drunk driving.

#002 Vandalism/Commercial Burglary Arrest
During a security check of a business complex on Albrae St, Officer Carter hears glass break and an alarm go off. A smashed glass door is located on the back side of a restaurant. Additional units respond and establish a perimeter. No suspects are located during a subsequent search.
