Arrest made in on-going sexual assault investigation

The Berkeley Police Department is currently investigating multiple reports of sexual assaults that were committed by the same suspect.    The assaults that are known to us occurred between November 2017 and the present. In two of the sexual assaults, the victims were physically injured after being punched, grabbed and or bitten.

On May 14th, the Berkeley Police Department arrested the suspect (Finn Wolff, Male, 20 years old, Berkeley) for two sexual assaults occurring in November 2017 and March 2019.  Wolff is a student at UC Berkeley and was active in the Greek system.  None of the reported assaults occurred on the UC Berkeley Campus.

The Alameda County District Attorney’s Office has charged Mr. Wolff with multiple felony charges related to this investigation and he is expected to be arraigned today.

Through the course of our investigation we have learned there may be additional victims who have not come forward to law enforcement.  These cases remain under investigation and we encourage anyone with additional information or who was victimized by the suspect to contact BPD’s Sex Crimes Unit at (510) 981-5717.
