Full Notification

Suffolk County Police Third Squad detectives are investigating a motor vehicle crash that critically injured a pedestrian in Brentwood last night.
 
A 44-year-old Brentwood man was crossing Washington Avenue north of Clarke Street when he was struck by a southbound 2008 Mercedes Benz ML430 at approximately 9:10 p.m. The driver, Marlene Coello, 27, of Brentwood, called 911 and remained at the scene.
 
The victim, whose identity is being withheld pending notification of next of kin, was transported via Brentwood Legion ambulance to Southside Hospital in Bay Shore with critical injuries.
The Mercedes Benz was impounded for a safety check.
