INCIDENT TYPE: Multiple Motor Vehicle Collision SW 34th and Bell St.
OFFICER SUBMITTING RELEASE: Lt. Clements-Detective Division/Traffic Investigations
DETAILS: On May 31, 2019, at 9:01am, Officers were dispatch to SW 34th and Bell St. on a multiple vehicle collision. Upon arrival, they discovered 4 vehicles had been involved in a collision in the intersection of the roadway. A 2011 Red Ford 4Door car driven by John Robert Reynolds, male, age 60, was north bound on Bell and was struck by a 2004 White Chevrolet pickup, pulling a trailer, driven by Jesus Enrique Gonzales, male, age 37, was traveling east on SW 34th. A 2009 Silver Honda Pilot driven by Oscar Jones, male, age 67 of Ft. Worth, TX and a 1999 Black Dodge Pickup driven by Justin Meligin, male, age 32, were also struck due to the initial accident. Reynolds was taken to a local area hospital with life threatening injuries. Speed and alcohol are possible factors in the accident. The incident is being investigated by the Traffic Investigation Squad of the Amarillo Police Dept.
