INCIDENT: Unlawful sexual intercourse with a minor

LOCATION: 6400 Block of El Reposo Street, Joshua Tree

SUSPECT: Jamie Correa, 27-year-old resident of Joshua Tree

VICTIM: Confidential – 17-year-old female

SUMMARY:
On May 30, 2019, at approximately 8:22 a.m., deputies from the Morongo Basin Sheriff's Station received a call from the Morongo Basin Sexual Assault Services, regarding a 17-year-old female having sexual relationship with Jamie Correa, a 27-year-old resident of Joshua Tree.

During the investigation, deputies learned Jamie Correa and the victim were involved in a relationship. Correa left the state for a short period of time but returned and contacted the victim again. The victim was 17-years-old when Jamie Correa and the victim began a sexual relationship, which continued until sometime in May.

Correa was arrested for PC 261.5, unlawful sex with a minor and PC 288a(a), oral copulation. He was booked at the Morongo Basin Jail with bail set at $25,000. He posted bail and was released from custody on May 30th.
