Michelle Kaphan is arrested for possession of a stolen vehicle

INCIDENT: Possession of a Stolen Vehicle
LOCATION: Avenue E and 5th Street, Yucaipa
SUSPECT: Michelle Kaphan, age 27 a resident of San Bernardino
VICTIM: Male a resident of San Bernardino
SUMMARY: On June 1, 2019, deputies from the Yucaipa Police Department responded to the area of Avenue E and 5th Street for a reported stranded vehicle in the roadway. Upon arrival, deputies discovered the vehicle was reported stolen out of the city of San Bernardino. Deputy Lozano began an investigation and located a female nearby. The female was identified as Michelle Kaphan. Through investigation, Lozano determined Kaphan drove the vehicle to the location and abandoned it in the roadway. Kaphan was arrested for PC 496D(A) - Possession of a Stolen Vehicle and booked into Central Detention Center.
