Update to Shell Robbery SRPD Case #19-7893, Suspect in Custody

On June 16th, 2019 an armed robbery occurred at the Shell Gas Station located at 2005 Guerneville Road.  During the course of the investigation, the Santa Rosa Police Department took to social media and shared security camera footage of the armed robbery suspect across Facebook, Twitter, Nextdoor, and YouTube.  Based on the video that was released multiple tips were received.  Detectives worked quickly to follow potential leads and the suspect in the robbery was identified. 

On Wednesday, June 26th, 2019 at approximately 8:00 am, the Santa Rosa Police S.W.A.T. Team served a search warrant in the 1500 block of Bruce Ct in Santa Rosa.  During the service of the search warrant the suspect, who was identified as Ituree James Baker, a 20-year-old Santa Rosa resident, was taken into custody without incident.  During a search of the residence, a loaded firearm was located as well as other items of evidence believed to be related to the robbery. 

Baker was arrested for 211 PC – Robbery and booked into the Sonoma County Jail.

***Original Press Release***

On Sunday June 16th, 2019 @ 11:03 p.m. Santa Rosa Police Officers were dispatched to 2005 Guerneville Road, the Shell Gas Station, for the report of an armed robbery.  The clerk reported that a subject had entered the business and pulled out a silver hand gun and pointed it at him and demanded cash.  The clerk gave the subject the cash and the subject fled out of the store.  The subject was last seen running behind the Safeway Store on Marlow Road.

Several Santa Rosa Police Officers responded to the area to search for the subject, be he was not located. 

The subject was described as a black male adult in his forties.  He was about five foot six, weighing 170 pounds with dark colored hair.  The subject was last seen wearing a dark colored hooded sweatshirt and dark colored pants.  The subject was also wearing gloves.

The gun the subject was holding was described as a silver handgun.
