On August 2nd at 11:25 AM, APD officers were dispatched to the area Tascosa Road and Plum Creek on a hit and run accident. A white ford F-150 had hit two vehicles and fled the scene. One of the victims was following the suspect and lost them on Westcliff Parkway. The suspect was described as being a white male wearing blue shirt and possibly armed with a gun. Officers observed the suspect walking in the 500 block of Tascosa Road. The suspect ran by the Happy State Bank building and into the lobby of the Amarillo National Bank, where officers took him into custody at 11:41 AM. The suspect identified as Colby Lee Rayburn, a 30 year old male, was found to have a warrant for a Parole Violation with the original charge of robbery. A gun was located on the side of the building where Rayburn was seen running. Rayburn was arrested for his warrant. The investigation into the incident is ongoing.
