Overnight closure of one eastbound lane on U.S. 278 tonight through Friday for routine bridge maintenance 
The South Carolina Department of Transportation (SCDOT) will conduct routine maintenance on the Hilton Head Island bridges over the next several nights. During the maintenance, the SCDOT plans to close one eastbound lane/the right-hand lane of U.S. 278—heading toward Hilton Head Island—between the hours of 9:00 pm and 6:00 am tonight (August 12) through Friday morning (August 16).
For the safety of the workers, motorists are asked to use caution if traveling on the bridges between those dates and times.
