Narrative:

On August, 7th 2019, Detectives from the Ventura County Sheriff’s West County Narcotic Street Team concluded a two month narcotic investigation into Oxnard resident Maxwell Coulson who was suspected of selling heroin to Ventura County Residents.

In July of 2019, narcotic investigators received information that Maxwell Coulson was selling large quantities of heroin to residents of Ventura County. During the two month investigation, investigators determined Maxwell Coulson and his sister, Leslie Salazar, were both involved in the sales of heroin and Coulson had rented an Oxnard storage locker to facilitate drug transactions.

On August 7, 2019, detectives detained Maxwell Coulson and Leslie Salazar and served search warrants at their residents. In addition, detectives served a search warrant at their storage facility. During the service of the search warrants detectives seized over three pounds of heroin packaged for sale, six firearms, ammunition and a large sum of cash.

Coulson and Salazar were arrested and booked at the Ventura County Main Jail for numerous narcotic and weapons violations. Coulson’s bail was set at $300,000 and his next scheduled court appearance is set for 08/13/2019 at 8:45 am in courtroom 40.

The West County Street Team is comprised of Narcotic Detectives from the Ventura County Sheriff’s Office, the Oxnard Police Department, and the Port Hueneme Police Department.
