A 30-year-old Apple Valley man is arrested for arson after setting a vehicle on fire

DATE/TIME: August 15, 2019, 00:14 am

INCIDENT: Arson

LOCATION: 19000 Tonkawan Road

SUSPECT: Quentin Heinz, 30-year-old resident of Apple Valley

SUMMARY:
On August 15, 2019 at 12:14 a.m., deputies from the Apple Valley Police Department were dispatched to a car fire in the 19000 block of Tonkawan Road. Upon arrival, contact was made with the victims and a neighbor who were attempting to put out the fire. The fire spread to nearby shrubs but was quickly extinguished when the fire department arrived.

One of the victims told deputies she noticed a glow out of her front window and when she looked outside her vehicle was on fire. After further investigation and processing evidence located at the scene, it was determined Quinton Heinz, who assisted the victim’s with putting out the fire, was the suspect.

Apple Valley Fire Department Arson Investigators and Sheriff’s Bomb/ Arson detectives were called to the scene to assist with the investigation.

Heinz was arrested and booked into High Desert Detention Center in violation of PC 451, Arson.
