Sideshow Activity Leads to Arrest, Citation, and Vehicle Impounds

Fairfield Police arrested one driver, cited another, and impounded two vehicles as a result of sideshow activity in separate parts of the city.  The first incident took place just after midnight Sunday Morning, Aug. 18.  A patrol officer spotted several people outside of their vehicles watching a white Ford Mustang spin “donuts” on North Texas Street near East Tabor.  An officer tried to stop the Mustang, but the driver fled south on North Texas Street.  The officer was unable to pursue the vehicle due to the number of people in the area, but located it minutes later in an apartment complex on Travis Boulevard.  The officer was able to positively identify the driver and arrested 18 year old Suisun City resident Charli Alvarado for reckless driving and evading police.  His vehicle was impounded.  His booking photo is not available.

At 12:30am, Fairfield Police began getting calls of several vehicles in the area of Red Top Road in Cordelia “doing donuts.”  Officers responded and saw several vehicles and people in the area.   The vehicles fled as officers arrived.  The officers stopped one of the fleeing vehicles for having no license plates and found the driver to be unlicensed.  The 22 year old male driver was issued a citation for driving without a license and his vehicle was towed.

Reckless driving is illegal, and sideshows are a danger to lives and property.  Fairfield PD takes a “Zero Tolerance” approach to sideshow activity, and those caught taking part face the possibility of citations, arrest, and/or having their vehicles towed.  We would like to thank all of those who took the time to report this activity and assisted us in responding to Sunday Morning’s events.
