Advisory

The upcoming forecast sounds like a trick more than a treat. Be prepared on the roadways.

The National Weather Service advises accumulating snow is expected to overspread the area starting this evening, continuing through the night and during the day Thursday. Between one and five inches of snow will be possible, with the heaviest amounts currently expected to fall across southeastern Wisconsin.

We would like to kindly remind all it’s time for winter driving preparedness. Snow can be picturesque, but it can create chaos on the roadways. Please, take the steps to help everyone stay safe on the roadways when driving in winter conditions.

  • Allow extra time for your commute.

  • Turn your headlights on. (Make sure they're clean.) Clean off your vehicle. Visibility is reduced in precipitation. This will improve your visibility and allow drivers to see you.

  • Remember, speed limits are meant for dry roads, not roads covered in snow, slush and ice. Reduce your speed and increase your following distance as road conditions deteriorate.

  • Know how to brake on slippery surfaces. Vehicles with anti-lock brakes (ABS) operate much differently. Consult your vehicle’s owner’s manual for instructions on how to brake properly.
Thank you and drive carefully!
