On Monday, November 04, 2019, at approximately 6:49 PM, Corcoran Police Officers were dispatched to an address in the 600 block of Denton Avenue for a disturbance. Upon arrival Officers contacted the reporting party who stated they were having problems with their adult son. While officers were investigating, they learned the son, 24 year old Devonte Jones, possibly had a firearm. Officer’s contacted Devonte who advised them that he had a firearm inside his bedroom. Officers were familiar with Devonte and knew he was currently on felony probation. Due to his probation terms and being a convicted felon Devonte is prohibited from possessing or owning firearms. The firearm was located inside a closet within Devonte’s bedroom. Devonte was arrested for possession of a firearm by a convicted felon. Kings County Probation was contacted and they issued a probation hold on Devonte. Devonte was transported to the Kings County Jail and held for being in violation of California Penal Code 29800(a)(1)- Possession of firearm by felon and for 1203.2(a)-Probation violation.
