Power shutoff confirmed for Sonoma County by PG&E

PG&E is shutting off power through portions of Sonoma County starting around 7 AM on Wednesday. Power will be shut off in all or portions of Camp Meeker, Cazadero, Cloverdale, Duncans Mills, Forestville, Geyserville, Glen Ellen, Guerneville, Healdsburg, Jenner, Kenwood, Monte Rio, Penngrove, Petaluma, Rio Nido, Santa Rosa, Sebastopol, Sonoma, Villa Grande, and Windsor.  PG&E expects to start turning power back on starting on Thursday morning, but it could a couple days for some people to have power again.

The Sheriff’s Office is always ready for emergencies.  Our primary concern is public safety.  We will be patrolling neighborhoods and staying visible.  Please be aware of your surroundings and follow these tips:
 

  • Don’t call dispatch for information.  Leave those lines open for urgent matters.
  • Call 911 if you see a crime happening, see suspicious activity, or have a life-threatening emergency.
  • Call 2-1-1 if you need services.
  • Treat dark stoplights like a stop sign.
  • Call 1-800-743-5002 for PG&E power outage information.
  • Visit socoemergency.org for power shutoff tips.
