A New Years Eve Public Safety Advisory From The Desk Of SHERIFF VICTOR HILL
On behalf of the hardworking men and women of the Clayton County Sheriff’s Office, we wish each and everyone of you a happy, safe, and prosperous new year!
2019 has been a very successful year in our business of fighting crime. I believe that everyone will be pleased with the crime reduction numbers when they are reported for the year.
In order to bring the new year in safely for all of our citizens, I will more than triple the manpower on the streets of Clayton County tomorrow for New Years Eve. There will be numerous road check points throughout the county, so please encourage friends and family not to drink and drive, Help them find other alternatives.
All of my elite special forces will be on duty as well and they will be concentrating on suppressing “celebratory gunfire”. Please let me make this clear: Firing Guns To Celebrate New Year’s Eve Is Dangerous And Will Not Be Tolerated In Clayton County. Anyone caught doing this will not be given a warning; they will be given a ride to my jail.
The Clayton County Sheriff’s Office New Years wish is to not see anyone spend the first day of the year in the county jail. Help us keep Clayton County safe by encouraging our friends and family not to drink and drive, or fire guns on New Years Eve.
May GOD bless each and everyone of you in 2020, and may he continue to bless Clayton County!
