Advisory

COVID-19 UPDATE - 3/19

As of this afternoon, 42 people have tested positive for COVID-19 in Contra Costa County.  This is an increase of 3 over the past 2 days.  Although the social distancing elements of the Health Officer's order are designed to slow the spread of COVID-19, the virus can take up to 14 days to incubate before the person becomes ill.  Between this and the increase in testing, the number of positive tests are expected to go up.  Please continue to abide by the Health Officer's order, a copy of which is attached.

The Town offices remain closed, although business can be conducted with different departments by telephone or e-mail.  While Town Parks are open, certain portions of the parks are closed.  These include the skatepark, play structures and the sport courts and are posted with closed signs.  These are areas where people can potentially come into close contact with each other and may leave the virus on the hard surfaces to be transmitted to another person.

Current information, including information about the Health Officer's order and the list of frequently asked questions, can be found on the Health Department website at www.coronavirus.cchealth.org or by calling 844-729-8410.

The Small Business Administration (SBA) Economic Disaster Loan Program is available for small businesses that have been adversely affected by the COVID-19 situation.  Please review the attached information sheet, which also contains information about who to contact and what documents are required.

Please remember that if you are calling 9-1-1 or our Dispatch number for help with a sick person, please tell the Dispatcher that the person is sick and what their symptoms are.  This information will be given to the first responders so they can put on personal protective equipment before they arrive.  This will help keep them safe and available to assist other residents.

A number of our local restaurants are offering their excellent food to go.  Please remember to patronize them as you are making your meal plans.  Other essential local businesses are also open and ready to assist you.  Please do your part in supporting our local businesses during these challenging times.

Thank you for your support of our first responders and those who are working to provide services, food and supplies.  Please continue to help us keep Moraga a safe community.
