City Council Extends Annual City Business License Tax Submittals to July 31 - Press Release:

City Council Extends Annual City Business License Tax Submittals to July 31

Manhattan Beach, CA (July 1, 2020) – Recognizing the continued economic devastation that the coronavirus (COVID-19) has had on our local businesses and economy, the City Council has once again extended the deadline for Annual Business License Tax Submittals. The new deadline is July 31, 2020.

Mayor Richard Montgomery stated, “We continue to assist our business community during this pandemic. At the beginning of the pandemic, we recognized the economic effect the Safer at Home Orders were going to have on our businesses and acted swiftly to extend the business license tax submittals. Today, as we continue to see closures, the economic effect will continue to be felt by our business community and we continue to work with them in an effort to mitigate the pain they are experiencing.”

To that end, recently, the City Council approved a temporary outdoor dining and business use program to allow restaurants and businesses to use the public right-of-ways and accommodate social distancing measures required by State and County protocols designed to limit the spread of COVID-19.

It is the community’s shared responsibility to slow the spread of COVID-19. By adhering to social distancing, wearing face coverings, being safer at home, hand washing, and avoiding crowds, confined spaces, and close contact, we can collectively mitigate future surges in coronavirus cases.
