There have been recent sightings of a large black bear in the area of County Route 519 and Bellis Road. At this point we have been monitoring the activity of the bear. Residents in this area have advised us that part of its activity is removing birdfeeders and outside garbage bags. We suggest that if you are in this vicinity that you secure those items. The bear does not appear to be aggressive at this time. However, as with any animal please use caution and do not confront the animal.
