Reminder: Taste of Painesville, Sept. 2, 2010, 5-10:00 p.m. on Main St. in Downtown Painesville

It’s the Biggest End of Summer Block Party in Lake County! Taste of Painesville rock’s Downtown Painesville every year in the heart of Painesville’s historic downtown commercial district. Thousands of people will gather after work on Thursday, September 2nd from 5 pm - 10 pm for great food, family fun and a live band.

This year’s event will feature The Light of Day Band, a local Cleveland band known for playing the wineries of Lake and Geauga County among hundreds of other Northeast Ohio locations. Participating local chef’s and restaurants will be on hand serving up a variety of their specialty dishes. Just to name a few of the selections: La Mexicana Kickin’ Quesadilla’s, Bistro 70’s Famous - Coconut Chicken, Flavor’s Fabulous– Sausage Sandwiches, Jimmy’s Exquisite - Bruschetta with Grilled Chicken, Rider’s Lip Smacking Wings and you surely won’t make it out without having one of Yvonne’s Double Double Chocolate Brownies.

Open all night, Your Vine or Mine, Painesville’s personal winery will be serving up some specialty wines and host wine tastings, or stop by the PCIC Bar and select from a variety of beers and Smirnoff products.

Finally, the Taste’s Corn hole Tournament is on, Cash prizes will be awarded! Make it your own after work party bringing family, friends and co-workers down for a rock’n great time, other friendly competition games including Frisbee golf will also be open for play. Carry-out parking is available for take out, spaces are provided in the ODJFS Parking Lot. Bella Donna Salon & Spa will offer face painting for kids of all ages.

This event is a collaboration between the City of Painesville and local restaurants to raise funds to support downtown beautification projects. This year’s funds will raise money for the City of Painesville Main Street Program through the Downtown Painesville Organization, a non-profit association whose mission is to work together, to preserve, protect and rebuild downtown Painesville into a vibrant, diverse, cosmopolitan area where people of all walks of life can work, play and live.
