Balding Bandit Wanted For Robbing 3 Banks in La Mirada

The FBI and the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department are seeking the public's assistance in learning the identity of a bank robber described as a white male in his fifties, suspected of robbing three banks since May, including this afternoon. The bank robber, known to law enforcement as the "Balding Bandit," due to his apparent receding hairline, passes a note during each robbery in which he demands cash and threatens a weapon.

The Balding Bandit has been alternately described as having a small beard, or as unshaven and, during some of the robberies, has worn sunglasses. He is also known to carry a cloth bag in which he places the stolen cash.

The Balding Bandit has been linked to the following bank robberies, all of which occurred in La Mirada, California.
May 14 - Chase Bank
July 23 - Chase Bank
Sept 17 - Banco Popular

Bank surveillance photos from each of the robberies are attached.

Anyone with information as to identity or whereabouts of the Balding Bandit is asked to contact the FBI or the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department, or call 911. The FBI in Los Angeles can be reached 24 hours a day at 888 CANT HIDE. Norwalk Sheriff’s Station at (562) 863-8711.
