Columbia Township Police investigating a series of larcenies from vehicles.
On September 21st, 2010 at approximately 3:00 pm Columbia Township Police were dispatched to Country Market in the village of Brooklyn for a larceny from vehicles. Upon arrival officers learned that a total of three vehicles had been broken in to and personal property stolen from the vehicles. The suspect or suspects gained entry to the vehicles by breaking the vehicle windows and grabbing items, including purses.
These larcenies on September 21st are believed to be related to a similar larceny from a vehicle that occurred on Ocean Beach Road at Clark Lake on September 1st 2010. In that larceny, the suspects gained entry to a vehicle by also smashing out a window.
Stolen in that larceny was a purse with credit cards. Within an hour of that larceny, the suspects used the credit cards at Meijers on East Michigan Avenue in Jackson. An image of a suspect using the stolen credit card was obtained.
Although the female suspect’s face is not visible in the image, it is hoped that the public may recognize her from her profile, clothing, and manner of dress.
Anyone with information on these crimes is asked to contact the Columbia Township Police Department at (517) 592-3122.
