The Port Neches Police Department has arrested one suspect and is investigating others that are responsible for a large number of daytime residential burglaries and open garage thefts. The suspects have been taking yard equipment,generators,fishing tackle and other items from yards and open garages for the past several weeks. Citizens were advised earlier this month to be on the lookout for a white Chevrolet van that was involved in these thefts that were occurring during the daytime. With the assistance of the public, investigators were able to identify several suspects and arrested one of the suspects believed to be responsible for these thefts. Investigators have recovered stolen property that has not yet been linked to its owners.
