Serious flooding on the Schuylkill with crests during the evening hours tomorrow October 1 is expected. 
The Berks County Department of Emergency Services has just been provided updated forecast projections by National Weather Service, Mt. Holly. Sustained rain of an unexpected volume and duration have caused river forecasts to be changed to reflect serious flooding on the Schuylkill River with crests during the evening hours tomorrow, Friday October 1. The river is expected to crest at 21’ at Reading. This is approximately 2.5 feet below the crest in June of 2006.
The river is expected to crest at 21’ at Pottstown. This is approximately 6 inches above the June 2006 crest.
Serious flooding along all small streams and creeks should be expected.
